Charm School Marm

This article, from the Guardian’s weekend section a couple of weeks ago, is glorious. For someone more versed in the topic than I am, there’s probably something interesting to be said about the – albeit extremely one-sided – depiction of two conflicting trends in feminism (I believe Hakim is pretty standard second-wave, while Williams is a less dogmatic third-waver), but I mainly like it for the wonderful tone. It’s rare to see a profiler call out the person they’re writing about, and to see them do it quite so comprehensively is even better. It may be unfair – I doubt it, given what else is publicly available about Hakim – but fuck me, it’s fun.
